VW Beetle 2002 1.6 - Hatchback - Possible door hinge issue. - sarah!

Hi, Please can anyone help me with my problem.....my beetle passenger door has started to do a rise & drop motion when I open it ....dropping as far as to damage the edge of my front wing & I presume this is something to do with the door hinge & wanted to know whether this sounds correct & will it be a costly repair.

Several possible causes I would guess. Pop round to your local body shop and ask them for a quick look - shouldn't cost. The only way to be sure is for someone to look.
