Volkswagen Up - can someone help - thecar

just brought a new car for my daughter volkswagen up

should be here july

i have noticed on the paper work it says

vehicle 1.0 take up 5 dr 07/12

does this mean the vehicle was made in 2012 so not in in 2013

so could be a year old already any help tks

Does it have a VIN no. yet?
If so, it should have a number that denotes the year slighly right of center IIRC.

July is just a couple of days away - the dealer should have the VIN number.

If you are getting it so soon and it is brand new it will probably be from central stock as VW generally quote 12 weeks for a new build. it Could be 12 months old, but the date could also be the model date, i.e its a Model year 2012 specification.

If you look around the car dates are sometimes stamped on components as it goes through the factory.

I thought just about every plastic moulding carries a date-stamp - or at least the month of manufacture of that part ?
