Dear honest john .

My car is in a workshop and they have told me the oil from this is not the turbo but a pressure relive valve Vauxhall are saying the cause of the oil leak is not the turbo .

I have been told by experts The turbo is leaking around the large clip and around the air intake pipe its also signs of leaking on the pipe below

There is also a whirring noise coming from the turbo I been told this oil leak is normal this is what vauxhall are telling me and i don't trust what they are telling me .

other dealers are saying this is not normal and what is a pressure relive valve why is it so much oil video link below and picture links

A certain ammount of oil seepage from the air intake pipe on the turbo is quite common, its due to the fact that the crankcase ventilation system discharges into the air intake and condenses there, you will probably find the whole of the intake system is oily inside. If it drives OK I wouldn't worry about it.

I know Vauxhall is a valued British historic asset, name, brand

Get your car out of Vauxhalls quick, and find a local garage.

If you leave it with their nice, name tagged, people, you will be left with a bill bigger than your mortgage, never mind the car.

Ask the window cleaner. Ask the dustbin wallah. At no event, ever, ever, take it to Vauxhall.

"what is a pressure relive valve" Every car has one it is a relief valve that regulates the maximum pressure of the oil. Why would Vauxall identify a simple seal on the pressure relief valve if they could have charged you for a replacment turbo. Regards Peter
