I have bought a performance chip for my car but I can not get the electrical plug out of the end of the common rail, Do I need a special tool???

Oh, dear!

If your refering to these add on chips like you can get on eBay, then I'm afraid you've been conned. They are rubbish, and like rubbish belong in the bin.

There are any number of half decent remapping companies out there who will remap your ECU [sort of] properly via the OBD port.

I had Remap Science do my PSA HDi engine (Dispatch van) from 110 to 136 and it's now so much better to drive. Though they made a pigs ear of my Saab Aero, so I switched to a Maptun tune (£600 but you get what you pay for!!).

I was not asking if Id been conned. I asked how to remove the electric plug from the end of the common rail and did I need a special tool???
