Sounds like a problem caused by perhaps some sort of voltage regulator problem. Get yourself over to www.saabtechtalk.co.uk which is a specialist forum just for Saabs, no doubt someone there will be able to help you (I'm a member of the same forum).

You need also to provide more detail, e.g. is it petrol or diesel?
