My 2004 E46 started puffing out white smoke the week Pope Francis was elected in Rome. I understand this is down to one or more Injectors. At the same time it dumped most of the engine oil over my drive. Is this a related problem or just a nasty coincidence? Any idea what this additional problem may be down to?

Does replacing the injectors on this model require any engine re-programmming? I use a small independent garage for my servicing and repairs.
