TYRE AGE. I know tyres over 5 years old can invisibly deteriorate, but how can I tell how old they actually are?

Sequence of letters and numbers on the sidewall starting 'DOT'.
The last 3 - 4 numbers give the week of year and year of manufacture.
387 is week 38 of 1987.
387 followed by a triangular mark is week 38 of 1997.
3807 is week 38 of 2007
