"I'm often asked if I have a list of links to useful motor-related websites? You bet. Click the Useful Websites button on the right to see the current list. More will be added, too. See also the FAQs, many of which contain individual directories."
"In the summer of 1996 the 'Motoring' section of the Daily Telegraph ran a reader's story about the differences between big garages in Britain and small garages in France.
"I felt that the contrast was more likely to be between bad garages and good garages generally, so I asked for readers' recommendations. The list continues to grow, and the most recent version is published here.
"Remember, the list is based purely on readers' recommendations, and inclusion is no guarantee of quality, competence or good value. Nevertheless, many of the testimonials were fulsome in their praise, so if you are looking for good service from your garage, this list may be a good start. Select your region from the menu on the right."
(Satisfied customers: if you'd like to recommend a favourite garage, tell us why in an email to goodgarages@honestjohn.co.uk with the garage's name, address and telephone number.)
Want to buy a car at auction? Honest John's comprehensive list of auction sites is separated into 14 regions covering all of the UK select your region from the menu on the right.
The dates and times of auction sales continually change, so to avoid misleading you with out-of-date information we are no longer listing these details. You should check with your chosen auction centre for specific sale dates. Many auctions will now take Switch or Delta/Link card payments (not credit card payments). Again, check this before leaving for the auction, and make sure you have sufficient funds in your account.

We're crazy about our cars in the UK. What's more, we love to share our mania with others. There are hundreds of Car Clubs across the country, celebrating both current and long-lost (but never forgotten) marqes, and some even dedicated to a single model.
This list is classified in alphabetical order of manufacturer, from AC to Zil (OK, to Wolseley). A further page lists specialist clubs not allied to a specific manufacturer.
