Why is my Volkswagen Passat juddering when I start it?

"I have a 2010 Volkswagen Passat CC automatic diesel. It's started to judder when I start it. Any ideas what it could be? It's driving me mad."
Reads like the wet clutch pack in the DQ250 6-speed DSG. This is due a fluid and filter change every four years or 40,000 miles whichever comes first.

Volkswagen Passat CC engine problems - what's the fault?

"I have a seven year old Volkswagen Passat CC. It has covered 140,000 miles and had no issues until now. The last two journeys, of approx 200 miles, the engine has 'missed', only for about 20 seconds each time. The engine also seems a little hotter upon arrival than it used to in previous years. Any idea what the problem could be? "
Probably something to do with the DPF regeneration. If the DPF has never been replaced it will be getting full of ash so active regenerations won't work properly. Check the engine oil level because it could be rising, contaminated with diesel injected into the engine for regenerations that failed.

Why can't my local dealer fix my Passat CC's faulty screen wash pump?

"My partner has a 2015 Passat CC which she bought almost 12 months ago with 2000 delivery miles. She has been very happy with the car until a few months ago the screen wash stopped working. She took it to our local Volkswagen dealer, where she bought the car, to have it repaired. After waiting 2.5 hours they fixed it by reloading the software. It lasted a few weeks and stopped working again, the car is now back in the garage for their fifth attempt to repair the fault At the last visit they had the car for 10 days and changed wiring, connectors, computer and screen wash pump and it lasted four days before it died again. I realise the car is outside the six month rejection period but we've lost all confidence in the car and don't want it anymore even if they do fix it. What can we do?"
This tends to indicate an over-reliance on computer diagnostics and lack of electro/mechanical experience by the dealer's mechanics (probably why they call them 'technicians' these days). Having experienced the problem before, I would guess that the real reason is that the tube from the washer reservoir pump to the nozzles is trapped and kinked somewhere, possibly in the bonnet hinge when the bonnet is closed.

Passat warning light - dpf fault?

"I have just had a fault light come on the dash of my Passat CC and a message saying diesel-particle. Would you have any idea what this means , as the light stays on while driving?"
It means that the diesel particulate filter of your car is blocked. If it's low mileage then it might be blocked with soot and the dealer may be able to regenerate it. If it's higher mileage of 70,000 miles plus then the DPF will be blocked with ash and your options are to have it cleaned out by the Ceramex process that costs around £300 or to buy a new DPF which, from Volkswagen, will be £1,000+.
