The 1990 Escort partially fixed. Got very much better as the years passed.
Rust kills them off.
Introduction
Ford had started paying attention to handling and drivability with the Mondeo (developed by Jackie Stewart), and put its chassis engineers to work on the lacklustre Escort. They did what they could, mainly by adding an anti roll bar to the rear twist beam axle.
