Bad: Limited interior space. Original engines were dull and dated. Not special to drive.
Good: Vauxhall version of the Chevrolet Captiva. Reasonably good looking. Improved for 2011 model year.
Bad: Neither the ride quality nor the handling are particularly good. Five seats only. If you want seven seats you have to go for a Chevrolet Captiva.
Good: More spacious than previous Astra. Available with impressive 1.0 Ecotec petrol. Five star Euro NCAP rating. Good ride comfort. 17 inch wheels and 45 profile tyres give 1.6T outstanding grip.
Bad: Doesn't move things on significantly from the old model. Rivals are more enjoyable to drive.

Bad: Not as good to drive as its rivals.
Good: Good quality fit and finish. Impressive refinement. Easy to drive.

Bad: Smaller diesels are noisy at motorway speeds.
Good: Much improved over previous Corsa. Better quality interior with a more upmarket feel. Impressive 1.0 Ecotec engine is the pick of the range. Good for around town.
Bad: Baffling number of different trim levels. Steering is slow and lacks feel. Other hatchbacks are more enjoyable to drive.
Good: Improved comfort with better seats. Increased payload. Very well equipped as standard with DAB and electric windows. Steering now adjusts for both height and reach.
Bad: 1.3 CDTi engine is still quite noisy. Strong competition from the Fiesta van. A revamp rather than an all-new van.
Good: Handles reasonably well. Decent ride quality. Much improved after 2013 facelift.

Bad: Not a great looker. Lags behind other small SUVs in terms of refinement and performance. Expensive for what it is. Lacking in quality. Noisy at speed.
Good: Low loading sill with the front-wheel drive models makes it easy to lift heavy goods in and out. Low running costs and 25,000-mile service intervals.
Bad: No standard ESP for front-drive models. Insubstantial-feeling plastics. The 100PS model feels underpowered on motorway.

Bad: Expensive. Not particularly outstanding in any area.
