Top 10: Worst MoT performers

A warranty will cover a lot of problems with your car, but avoiding problems in the first place is a much better bet than constantly fixing an unreliable car. The ten models in the gallery below are the worst performers in the MoT test – and so are cars to avoid if you want a trouble-free motoring.

The data is taken from our MoT files, and to keep things relevant we’ve kept it to cars of which more than 1000 were tested over the period of a year. Click through the gallery to see the full list, or click here to see our list of the ten cars with the highest average pass rate.

2000 Fiat Multipla – 33% pass rate

The last thing you’ll want if you own a family MPV is a lot of breakdowns, so the Multipla isn’t going to be high on your list. The average pass rate is 33%, so two out of every three tested fail their MoT test. In the Multipla’s defence it is getting long in the tooth now, like all of the cars in this list.
