Scheme name: Volkswagen Approved Used.

Warranty period: Cars up to three years / 100,000 miles continue to benefit from the manufacturer's warranty, which covers all major components. Cars more than three years/100,000 miles have a warranty for 12 months have 'named component' cover to ensure the car is protected against the cost of parts and repair.

History check? Every Volkswagen Approved Used vehicle has its mileage verified. Confirmation will be passed onto you when you take delivery of your vehicle. Other checks include:

• Vehicle identity - Make, model, colour, engine size and number, door plan, fuel type and transmission as recorded by the DVLA.
• Date of first registration - Confirmed with the DVLA.
• Finance - to ensure there's no outstanding finance.
• Condition alert - to ensure there  hasn't been a total loss claim.
• Stolen vehicle check - to ensure that it hasn't been reported missing.
• Plate transfer.

Inspection? Multi-point inspection checks boot/luggage area, doors for operation/damage and interior/ security, operation of electrical components, under bonnet (for leaks and damage), Underside (for leaks and damage) and a visual check of exterior for damage. Maintenance work is carried out and there's a roadtest.

Breakdown Cover: A minimum of 12 months breakdown recovery.

Exchange policy: 30 days / 1000 miles.
