Does anyone find the Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI prone to flat spots?

Anybody else suffer flat spots at low revs in the Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI or find it easy to stall at low revs in first and second gear?

It's a characteristic of this nasty old engine. Obviously feeding it the best diesel (BP Ultimate) will help a bit.
