Why is my Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi making a noise on overrun?
I have a 54-reg Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi with 113,000 miles. It's developed a whining noise and a slight feel through the steering wheel when you take your foot off the accelerator. The noise is not there under load or acceleration. Any ideas please?

Possibly the power steering pump.
