I've been sold a car that has no service history - do I have any recourse?

I part-exchanged a car at my local Toyota dealer. They sold me a Toyota and said it had a full service history and that the documents would be sent in post. I waited and waited, and it transpires that they are now saying it hasn't got a full service history but it has been serviced "in-house". Apparently there is no proof of these services. I questioned whether this will affect the resale value, but they assure me that it won't and basically said 'like it or lump it'. Do I have any recourse?

You need to get in writing that whatever service regime the car has been given will not affect any remaining Toyota warranty. Otherwise take back the car for a full refund. In that case, if they have sold your p/x they have to refund whatever they gave you for it as well as whatever you paid.
