The ESP light came on in our Suzuki Ignis - should we be worried?

My 52 plate Suzuki Ignis has covered just over 50,000 miles and is regularly maintained. Yesterday my wife was driving the car when the ESP light came on. There was no obvious effect on the steering and the light went out after she had stopped to call me and restarted it. Should I be concerned?
