Which secondhand car for use in the Scottish winter?

I am looking to spend up to £15,000 on a secondhand car for my wife, who only will do 4000 miles per year so I'm looking at one or two year-old car. I would like either front wheel drive or 4X4, as we're based in Scotland and winter weather has to be considered. What do you suggest?

She'll probably like the new Nissan Juke. If you fit it with winter wheels and tyres from November to March you won't need 4WD. Alternatively, the revamped Suzuki SX4 in 2WD or 4WD. Both the Juke and the SX4 are video tested at www.honestjohn.co.uk
