Is it necessary to change all four tyres at the same time on an AWD car?

I have a current Ford S-MAX AWD which has Continental Contisportcontact 235/50 R18 W XL tyres which I shall have to replace shortly. Two questions, is it necessary to change all four tyres at the same time and is there a better quieter tyre than the current ones?

They all need to be replaced because any disparity wheel to wheel can be detected as slippage and can engage the AWD system. The very best tyres for ride comfort, steering feel and quietness as well as cold weather benefits are Michelin Cross Climate but at time of writing they don't seem to do exactly that size. Next, Goodyear Vector 4-Seasons Gen 2. Next Nokian Weatherproof.
