What prestige SUV do you recommend for comfort, safety and space?

I'm thinking of getting an upmarket SUV and I'm open to your recommendations. Something like an Audi Q5 or Lexus RX450h, or similar that is a couple of years old might suit. I've never driven an SUV before so I'm totally in the dark. We have an 18 month old and take several long trips each year, but mostly do shorter trips around town and a daily six mile commute to work. I'd like something comfortable, safe and with more space than our hatchback.

The coolest is a Porsche Macan. Next, a Jaguar F-Pace. The Q5 is are a bit further down the pecking order. The current multi-faceted RX450h is much more interesting than the previous rather bland looking RX450h. Best value for money is a KIA Sorento 2.2 KX2 (or the previous versions KX2 Nav), but these need to be manual.
