What are my rights if my car's clutch/flywheel broke within 6 months of purchase?

I recently purchased a 2012 vehicle at the end of August 2016 which came with an initial 3 month guarantee and a 2 year warranty I opted to purchase. The car was marginally over 85,000 miles when I bought it, but at just over 90,000 I experienced a failure to engage/disengage gear. It was taken to the place of purchase and they informed me that the clutch/flywheel most likely need replacing but these items are not covered by my 2 year warranty. Do I have recourse to the Consumer Rights Act and the 6 month presumption?
Nothing whatsoever to do with the insured warranty because it isn't covered and will be presumed to have been starting to fail before the warranty was taken out anyway. But by the same presumption, it's possible that you will win a case against the dealer on the grounds that the fault was "present or developing" on the date you bought the car and, because it is within 6 months of that date, the dealer would have to disprove this.
