Approved used car missing its service history

I have just purchased a used 2015 Ford Fiesta from a Peugeot dealership. I know nothing about cars so thought going via a dealership would be safer. I checked the car as much as I could with my limited knowledge and everything seemed decent: exactly one year old, 6000 miles, one owner and in good condition.

While I checked it, the sales representative told me that they had serviced the car (as part of their used car program) and the next service would be due in one year or at 10,000 miles.

After returning home with the car, I realised the engine coolant level is just above the minimum line. I also noticed that I have no paperwork showing Peugeot serviced the car, whether the servicing they did is considered a “full yearly service” and the service book is missing.

This makes me wonder if the car has been serviced at all, does the servicing meet the Ford requirements or if there is an issue with the coolant. Should I ask the dealership to provide proof of the service and a top-up in coolant level? Or should I take the car for a Ford dealership service and in case of issue try to return the car to the Peugeot dealership under the 30 day fault return?

Without a doubt. Demand the service book stamped with the service the car received and if this is not forthcoming, reject the car for a full cash refund under The Consumer Rights Act 2015. (It's probably an oversight and they probably have the service book waiting to be stamped.)
