Buying a tall car - any suggestions?

I have owned a Toyota Verso 1.8 for over four years and am about to change. We have loved the Toyota and may well get another, but I'm unsure how durable the CVT gearbox will be if I run the car for more than 5/6 years? Would a CR-V or CX5 be likely to last longer, or am I worrying about nothing? All the reviews say the Verso has a noisy gearbox, have I been very lucky, or just hard of hearing? We've had no complaints.

My review of the Verso 1.8i Valvematic Multidrive S does not say it has a noisy gearbox. Your transmission might need a scheduled fluid change (with Honda it's now every 2 years). But it should last well. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-vers.../
