Would you recommend buying an F-Pace diesel?

The Jaguar F-Pace perfectly fits my needs for my next vehicle, with one crucial exception - I only do about 6000 miles a year (short local runs plus a few long continental trips). That suggests I need petrol. But the F-Pace 3.0 litre is too expensive and thirsty for me. And Jaguar doesn't have a date for the promised 2.0 Ingenium petrol.

A salesman suggested that the Ingenium diesel is so clean that it could be OK for me - in particular that I might get by without having to take it out for a long run DPF-cleaning every week. What do you think?

The Ingenium 2.0 diesel engine uses AdBlue to meet EU6. I can't tell you what the effect of repeated short runs from cold will be. Awaiting feedback from owners of XEs, XFs, Evoques and Discovery Sports with the same engine. You can still get an Evoque with the 2.0 litre chain cam 240PS Ford EcoBoost engine. Jaguar/LandRover will still not commit to a date for the introduction of the Ingenium petrol engine.
