My shortlist for my next car is between the Jaguar XE petrol and the MErcedes-Benz C-Class (also petrol. Which is best? Also is there a new Jaguar petrol engine on the way?

No. I specifically asked on a recent launch and they won't tell us until they are certain that testing is complete and they have got all the bugs out, which is fair enough. Nothing wrong with the Ford engine currently fitted. One magazine actually bettered the NEDC economy figures.
