How often should I service my BMW 320i?

I've just taken the plunge and bought a three year old BMW 320i. Following your advice, I am getting the oil changed at a maximum interval of one year/10k miles and I will use Shell V-power unleaded in it as I have had good experience of the diesel version in my previous car. What else should be done for 'proper servicing' as opposed to 'condition based servicing'?
You are doing the right things. If you use the a/c regularly that will not need regassing every two years; maybe every five years. Because its a Xdrive you also need to change the fluid in the centre clutch every two-three years. BMW ED batteries are a bit special and very expensive so you won't want to pay £300 every five years for one of them.
