Buying a Honda CR-V - petrol or diesel?

I want to replace my 2002 Honda CR-V petrol with the newer model. Should I go with petrol or diesel? I would buy a 2008/9 with 100k miles and would do about 10k miles/ year.

2.2iCDTI. A 2008/2009 avoids the 2.2iDTEC with a DPF, but a friend of mine has taken one of these from 74k to 99k with no trouble. Expect 40mpg + from the manual.

Roomy and versatile. Very comfortable, pleasant and relaxing to drive. not at all cumbersome. 2.2 i-CTDI diesel is excellent.
