Buying a new 3 Series - which wheel size is best for comfort?

I am thinking of buying a new BMW 3 Series (320i) saloon. The Luxury version of this model is only available with 18-inch wheels fitted with 225/45 tyres whereas the SE model comes as standard with 17-inch wheels and 225/50 tyres. In your opinion would there be any noticeable difference in the ride quality between these two models?

Yes. The ride of the SE is better. Avoid at all costs 19-inch wheels on which the rear tyres are 255/35 R19 and give an unacceptably hard ride for a car of modest power.
