Swirl marks on new MINI paintwork

I collected my new MINI JCW from the dealers on 1st September. During the handover I noticed the paintwork was covered in swirl marks, which was very disappointing for a brand new car. The car had Supaguard treatment applied and I assumed the marks had been caused at the dealership rather than the factory but I have no way to be sure. The dealership agreed to book the car into their body shop to remove the marks and reapply the Supaguard. This was done yesterday but it was getting dark when I collected the car. When I look at the paintwork in bright light I can see it is still covered in swirl marks, especially on the black roof, in fact it may even be slightly worse! I'm not sure how best to proceed here, is it actually possible to remove swirl marks or am I just wasting my time with the dealer?

This is likely to be the dealer's fault for the way it applied the original Supaguard, so you can reject the car outright for being delivered with damaged paintwork and demand a full refund. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ You cannot use the new Consumer Rights Act which came into force on 1st October 2015, but no need to worry because the problem was covered anyway by Clegg v Olle Andersson, House of Lords, 2003.
