Euro 6 from September

I see the SMMT website says "From 1 September 2015, all new car MODELS sold in the UK must meet this low emissions standard". Does this mean, then, that existing models may continue?

No. New Type Approvals for new Models were from 1st September 2014. All cars first registered within the EC from 1st September 2015 must meet the EU6 emissions standard. That's everything.
