Where have all of the petrol Yetis gone?

I want to get a second hand Skoda Yeti. I do not want a diesel as I only cover 7000 miles a year. This only leaves the 1.2 petrol which fear is too underpowered for my needs.

Why has Skoda discontinued the 1.4 and 1.8 petrol models? I want a 1.8 but I am sure that the tax /petrol consumption is high. What is wrong with the 1.4?

The 1.8TSI AWD was by far the best Yeti, but also used the most fuel, so was dropped for a couple of years but came back again with the most recent facelift. The 1.8 was the Yeti that Clarkson brilliantly demonstrated on Top Gear, and I road tested the same car (don't know if it was before, or after): www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/skoda/skoda-yeti-1.../ Unfortunately, if not properly run in (hard) the 1.8TSI has gained a reputation as an oil burner.
