What should I look out for when buying a used Clio?

I've been offered A 2001 Renault Clio with 40,000 miles on the clock. Is there anything that I should look out for and check as I have heard reports of bonnet problems?
If the bonnet catch opens on these the plastic retaining hook is not strong enough to hold it down so the bonnet can blow back against the windscreen. Vital to check and regularly grease the main bonnet catch and if the plastic hook doesn't look so good, replace it. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/renault/clio-ii-1998...d
