Why is the battery always flat in my Peugeot 307?

Our Peugeot 307 (2007 registration) suffers from a flat battery in the mornings. I've tried buying a new battery, but they have also gone flat.

The car has been looked at by our garage a couple of times and by a specialist vehicle electrical firm, who all found nothing wrong. The problem seems to have got worse in the last year, and in the cold. Can you help?

If it's the original battery then this isn't surprising. It will have lost its capacity to hold a full charge of 13-14 volts and will only be holding maybe 11.5, which isn't enough.

If it's a new battery then the most likely culprit causing the draindown is the interior light delay. Switch it off completely so it never comes on.
