Changing wheel size - is this a good idea?

I have received good advice about reducing the wheel size on my Kia Ceed from 17" to 15" to help ride comfort. I would be grateful to know if doing this has a good chance of reducing road noise? It's annoying when a motor company will only supply a low profile wheel as some people prefer substance over style!

Yes, will improve ride comfort as long as the deeper profile tyres fitted are not hard compound low rolling resistance 'Energy' tyres. You need to get your insurer's approval and this will probably depend on fitting official KIA wheels. There will be resistance from the dealer because the smaller wheels and tyres may not to EC Type approved for the model of KIA cee'd you have.
