Most economical car for high mileage motorway driving?

I currently own a 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.5 TDCI. I do mostly motorway driving (around 23,000 miles a year) and my average MPG is 51.8. I have the car on lease and I am looking to see if there are more economical cars out there that can give me better for high mileage motorway driving. What do you recommend?

When we checked, the Vauxhall Corsa 1.3CTDI was getting the best real life fuel economy, but, though few reports of trouble in Corsas, that same engine had had issues caused by the DPF in FIAT 500s.
