What's wrong with my Nissan Qashqai?

I purchased a used Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dci (2008) a couple of months ago with 38,000 on the clock. Everything was fine until a couple of weeks ago when it started to stutter quite noticeably.

Initially, I thought it may be down to the cold snap, but the problem is still present. I have noted that my mpg has also started to drop. It is almost like driving with oval tyres on(I have checked them and they are fine), any suggestions what the problem could be?

Won't be a blocked DPF because a 2008 Qashqai 1.5DCI doesn't have one (didn't get one until 2010), So I suspect it a clogged up EGR.
