Can frozen wiper blades cause an electric fault?

This morning I've tried to operate wipers when frozen. All I got was a lot of clicking in fuse box area. They worked eventually but now all the electrics keep going off and coming on whilst driving. Any Ideas?

You've probably broken the mechanism and that is affecting everything else on the same canbus power circuit. This is why in countries that regularly see below zero temperatures, people park their cars with the wipers sticking into the sky.
