Buying a Jaguar XF - which trim is best?

My Fiancee and I are looking to replace our 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLK and 2011 BMW 1 Series with a new or nearly new Jaguar XF 3.0 diesel. We are quite active - cycling, caving, flying, golf - and will need something to carry our ageing parents and fairly soon a young family, as well as cover long distances in comfort. Which trim and wheels should we choose?

I guess the only way to carry bicycles would be with a folding towbar mounted bike rack and that combination will set you back an extra £1000 or so. You need to go quite high spec to get all the sports kit, but best not to go beyond 19-inch wheels.

Long time ago now, but we tested the model here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/jaguar/jaguar-xf-3.../ 275 much better than 240.

We also had a facelift 240 long-term: www.honestjohn.co.uk/our-cars/jaguar-xf/

Wonderful and bespoke feeling interior. Amazingly quiet and refined. More economical 2.2 diesel from 2011. Navigation not fitted as standard on most models.
