Why does my Astra veer to the left?

I bought a 2012 Vauxhall Astra from a main dealer last year, but took it back after a week due to the car veering to the left. Eight months later after several return visits and various excuses I am now told it's a generic fault with this vehicle. Can I reject the car at this stage?

Didn't Ford Mondeos have a similar problem a few years ago. Is this a known fault with the Vauxhall Astra?

The Ford Mondeo problem was due to an older driver fighting off a wasp inside the car and hitting a kerb as a result and this bent his suspension. In your case the fault might be bias in the tyres so there are two simple things to try. The first (assuming the tyres are not directional) is to swap the front wheels side to side. If that doesn't work, then swap the fronts with the rears same side. If you still have a problem, get a laser alignment.
