Audi A1 or Volkswagen Polo - which is best?

I want to buy a small car, but can't decide between the Audi A1 or Volkswagen Polo. Which would you buy?

An A1 is a poshed up Polo and carries more status than a Polo. The best is obviously the quattro AWD S1. But lower down the range the Polo got the latest engine upgrades before the A1, such as the 1.2TSI 110, the 1.4TSI 125 and the 1.4 TSI ACT 150.
