Should I pay extra for extended warranty?

We are about to buy a used Ford C-Max Titanium 2.0 Tdi Powershift Automatic from a main dealer. We are spending £12,000 and we will get a three month guarantee. Is it worth getting the extended warranty, costing £295 for 12 months or £495 for 36 months?

For peace of mind, yes, as long as the warranty is comprehensive. If it is riddled with non covered wear and tear clauses the warranty is a waste of money.
