Auto box

I am puzzled and need your help. I am looking at a 2007 (57 plate) C4 Picasso Auto ECG VTR+ 2L Petrol to buy as I only drive autos. I can see it has a column control with R,N,A,M and paddlesso i presume I can put it in A and drive it similar to an auto as I was told C4 Picassos do not come with FULL Autos in any year?

What is puzzling me is at another dealer there is exactly the same model and year but...it has a normal auto gearlever in the middle ofthe dash!!!

What is the difference please. I am totally confused!

Thanks John

There is a Electronically Controlled Gearbox version, which is basically a manual transmission with a system of servos and actuators that replicate a driver changing gear. Not recommended. But there is also a six-speed torque converter auto offered with 2.0 HDi from late 2007. That's the one to go for.
