Winter tyres for Auris Hybrid Touring Sports

I have 225/45/ R17 91W Tyres on my Auris Touring Sports Hybrid.

I am considering getting winter tyres for this and would probably like a second set of wheels for ease. Do I have to stick to R17 wheels or would a smaller size be better?

Also do I have to have 91W or is something higher or lower ok? I am thinking that higher would be ok but not lower. Are there any makes of reasonably priced tyre that you would recommend? Should I buy now in the summer or wait until later in the year?

Winter tyres will work better on the 15 or 16-inch wheels size. I'd go for the 16s: Auris tyre sizes are: 15-inch steel wheels with 195/65 R15 tyres; 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/55 R16 Michelin Energy Saver Plus tyres; 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/45 R17 tyres. G

et the set of 16s from www.tyremen.co.uk The best cold weather tyres are Vredestein Wintrac. The best all weather tyres are Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons. Buy now while stocks are high.
