Best £5k car with a large boot?

I need a car for about £5000. It must fit a dog crate in the boot along with gardening tools, such as spades etc plus a couple of storage boxes. No machinery. I do about 200 miles a week, mostly on duel carriageways but also some bumpy country lanes. What would you suggest?
