Roof discolouration - is this a warranty item?

I have just bought a 2013 BMW 320D and after giving it a proper clean this weekend I have found a discoloured area about 12 by 6-inches in the centre of the roof. The car is silver in colour and the area can only be seen in certain lights, it almost looks like it wasn't painted properly. What rights do I have? Is this a warranty item?

Yes, selling dealer's responsibility. I'd guess that a bit of the plastic protective sheeting tore while the car was in transit so that bit of the roof was affected by sunlight. Might be able to correct the discolouration by heat treatment.
