Is there an issue with uneven rear tyre wear on the Volkswagen Eos?

Does anyone know if there is an issue with uneven rear tyre wear on the Eos range? The inside 25 per cent of each rear tyre is effectively bald, yet the rest of each tyre has at least another 5000 miles left. The local Volkswagen dealer advises he knows of no issues, but can perform 4-wheel alignment.

We've not heard of any problems with tyre wear on the Eos, although you'd hope that correct four-wheel alignment and regularly checking tyre pressures would sort this out. You could also try posting in Technical Matters in the Backroom at www.honestjohn.co.uk which is free.
