Buying a Lexus - which model is best?
I have an extremely reliable 1997 Mercedes-Benz C180 estate that has done 410,000 mile. I am now thinking of changing it for a Lexus. My son has a IS250 with the high quality sound system and sensible sized wheels, which makes it a comfortable ride. However, I live in Portugal and the IS250 is very rare, but there are lots of IS220D models. What should I buy?

The IS250 automatic (must be automatic) is extremely smooth and reliable. The IS220D has a lot of problems: a fundamental one of over-long gearing, and a rattly diesel engine, and also the potential for cylinder head problems.
