What should I replace my rusty 7-seat Mercedes-Benz E-Class with?

I have a 2002 Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI EST. I've owned the car for three years now and I bought the car with the view of keeping it for 5-7 years. The car is fantastic, as it has seven seats and gives me and my family loads of space and versatility, as well as the ability to get three child seats across the back. I love the solid feel and build quality, and the fact that I often hit over 43mpg on a run with it is one hell of a return.

Two years ago I noticed some rust on the driver's front wing and Mercedes-Benz replaced it as part of its 8-year warranty. This warranty runs out in September and there are several rust spots I am leaving till the last moment to get repaired, as repairs only carry a 12-month guarantee. Now I need to change the car and I don't really want to spend more than £10,000 on top of what the car is worth. I don't particularly want an MPV or 4X4 but appreciate that not many cars fulfil my criteria.

You can get a 7 seat version of the W211 E-Class, but they're quite hard to find. I'd be thinking in terms of a Ford S-Max, though, as the accommodation is better.
