What's causing this engine fault on my Skoda Fabia vRS?

In June 2011 I bought a Fabia vRS new from SMC Skoda Exeter. At the second service, with 12,000 miles, I mentioned the high oil consumption plus the fact the car had gone into limp home mode after some spirited driving. Yet, other than noting a misfire on cylinders two and four, Skoda Assist could find no fault. SMC wanted to do an oil test and asked me to bring the car back after 500 miles. Just before, I took it back in, and again after some spirited driving, the car went into limp home mode.

Again, Skoda Assist could find no fault other than noting a misfire, but it had used a litre of oil in 500 miles. The car was recovered to SMC and a hire car supplied. It has had a new engine, coil, alternator, ECU plus a whole list of parts suggested by VAG. There is talk of a new gearbox, but I am told the misfire continues and no one has any answers. Now after more than 11 weeks the car is being transported to VAG at Milton Keynes. How long should I just accept the situation, and what rights do I have ?

Tricky one. Obviously VAG is very well aware of the problem with the Twin-charger Fabia VRS (and Polo GTi). To the extent they are being dropped from the model mix. You'll probably get an offer you can't refuse.
