Are you aware of this news story on increasing fatalities among motorcyclists?

I saw this story on the BBC News website and thought you should be aware: “Rising deaths in bikers paradise. As figures show a rising number of deaths among bikers in North Yorkshire, BBC News asks how dangerous are the county’s roads?" www.bbc.co.uk/go/em/fr/-/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-23714505”

Many thanks, but this is a different issue from the one I raised. I am trying to educate car drivers to be more aware of bikers at all times and not drive into their paths or otherwise crash into them. Bikers are not my audience. I cannot persuade them to change their weekend activities. The bikers who go out on the moors for a Sunday blast are actually only a sensational minority of the 5000 seriously injured and the 335 killed last year. Far more get killed by car drivers pulling out in front of them. In fact, the first death crash I ever saw was of a biker that a car had reversed into the path of. The bike's engine was still running, and the chain had torn his stomach out. But this would not have happened at all if the car driver had been looking and listening.
